About Jiju

Find places by what you want to do.

When you look for a place, you usually have one thing in mind: somewhere to sit and work, a good-value lunch, somewhere that takes your pet, or a place to explore at the weekend. Jiju organises places in Malaysia by those four intents, each with its own filters.

The current focus is set lunches in Penang: price, serving days and hours, and conditions, each linked to the venue’s own source. Details we have not confirmed are marked unknown.

Why Jiju exists

Maps tell you where a place is. They rarely tell you the terms.

What time the set lunch starts, whether it runs at weekends, whether the price includes tax; whether you can work on a laptop all afternoon; whether you can bring the dog inside. The details that decide the trip are often missing, or only visible in an old photo.

Jiju collects that kind of detail, and each one needs a source: the venue’s own page, the owner’s questionnaire, or a check by the Jiju team. Without a source, we say unknown.

People who have been there can send a correction. Corrections are reviewed before they change a page, so the details get more accurate the more they are used.

In one sentence

If this is your first time meeting Jiju, this is enough.

Jiju tells you where to go for what you want to do, and how sure we are about each detail.

Four intents

Work, Eat, Pet and Explore, each with its own filters.

Filters are grouped by intent instead of shown all at once. Eat looks at set lunches, price and halal status; Work at power sockets, WiFi and time limits; Pet at sourced pet policies; Explore at outdoor places, campsites and heritage trades.

What you can use today

The parts that are live now.

Discovery by intent

Pick an intent on the discovery page, then narrow by area and conditions.

Penang set lunches

Deals currently listed, sorted by price, with serving hours, the end date when the venue gives one, and a link to the source.

Place details

Address, opening details, deals, and pet, work or dining details that have a source. Anything without one is marked unknown.

Saved places

Keep a list of places you want to go, and share it if you like.

Community and corrections

Post, review, and send corrections. A correction changes a page only after review.

Pet mode

Vets, pet shops, pet care services, and places with a stated pet policy are grouped in Pet mode.

1

Deals link to the venue’s own promo page; deals with an end date leave the lists once it passes

2

Pet policies are shown only after an owner questionnaire or a Jiju team check; vets and pet shops count by their type

3

Details without a source are shown as unknown, never as a yes

4

Community corrections go to review before they change a public page

How it works

Start with an intent, end with a decision.

1. Pick an intent

Lunch, somewhere to work, somewhere for your pet, or somewhere to explore. Choose one.

2. Check the conditions

See only the conditions that matter for that intent, each with a source or marked unknown.

3. Decide

Save it, get directions, or go. If something is unknown, ask the venue before you set off.

4. Come back with corrections

If a detail turned out to be wrong, send a correction so the next person does not make a wasted trip.

The priority now is making Penang set lunch information accurate: price, hours, branches and end dates that match their sources. The other intents keep growing alongside it, and Pet guides and places stay for the people who need them.
