The Chocolate Danger: Theobromine

Chocolate contains theobromine, a compound dogs cannot metabolize. It builds up to toxic levels.

Toxic Levels

• White Chocolate: Low risk (mostly sugar/fat).
• Milk Chocolate: Moderate risk.
• Dark/Baking Chocolate: EXTREME RISK.

Symptoms

Vomiting, diarrhea, rapid breathing, seizures.
